Apple Growth Partners Annual Charity Golf Classic
Apple Growth Partners continues the tradition of this event started by merged firm Brott Mardis & Company. The 2008 Charity Golf Classic was held on September 26 with 31 teams vying for top honors - and big prizes for their selected charities. The CGC is unique in that all proceeds from the event are donated to the charities designated by the golfers. Apple Growth Partners underwrites all costs of the day, so all golf fees, sponsorships and contest proceeds are entered in the prize purse. Even more, the award structure used provides for many charities to benefit. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams receive awards of $4,000, $3,000 and $2,000 respectively. The remaining proceeds are given in $1,000 increments in a random draw of golfers.
This year, $23,000 was donated to charity - an all time high amount that could not have been achieved without the generous support of golfers, sponsors and corporate donors. Since the event's inception, over $90,000 has been donated to deserving charities in Northeast Ohio.
